A leading technology solutions company is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join its UK Public Sector team. You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and delivering against financial targets. The role involves preparation of business reviews and collaboration with internal teams, as well as managing public sector tender processes. Version 1 is recruiting an experienced Account Manager to join the UK Public Sector team. This is an exciting opportunity for an Account Manager looking for a new challenge and the chance to work with large scale clients. You will develop an existing portfolio of customer accounts across the public sector in a way that delivers sales and growth targets, maximises revenue whilst delivering the highest level of customer service. The role will be part of a successful team focused on UK Public Sector opportunities, comprising sales people who generate new opportunities and/or lead responses to large government tenders and Account Managers who manage opportunities into the existing customer base. High levels of customer satisfaction in line with company targets.
Account financial targets, i.e., growing the value of new and existing accounts.
Prepare and own Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) for your customers, ensuring they are effective and driving completion of any arising actions.
Prepare, present, and deliver Version 1 propositions to customers and be confident in delivering these virtually and in person.
Contribute to bid strategies to maximise winning opportunities, and ensure pre-qualification processes make opportunities viable.
Other responsibilities as an Account Manager include sustaining a pipeline aligned to your customer horizon, grasping their strategy on a rolling 24-month basis, and identifying opportunities to shape plans as their go-to partner.
Effective time management and prioritisation of tasks, with the ability to flag issues outside your area of expertise.
Obtain customer and partner publicity including case studies, win wires, and press releases.
Collaborate with internal teams (Delivery, Partner Account Managers, Commercial Operations) to ensure success with bid responses, contracts, and prospects for our customers.
Travel regularly to Version 1 and customer sites across the UK and Ireland to build and maintain strong relationships.
Experience in a sales team in an account management capacity or similar role.
Experience in IT Services, IT Consultancy, technology solutions or a related industry.
Awareness of Public Sector tender processes, including Government Frameworks, or willingness to learn.
Influencing and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to motivate at multiple levels to deliver on time and with high quality.
Ability to complete tenders and internal documentation to a high standard using the Microsoft Office suite.
Experience building good customer relationships.
Good commercial awareness and understanding of project and business dynamics.
Ability to work to tight deadlines with effective prioritisation and time management, and to flag issues outside own area of expertise.
