Commercial Manager - Co-op Property

£55,000 to £59,200 plus benefits. Permanent role (Work Level 5). Manchester city centre, hybrid working.

We're looking for a motivated Commercial Manager to join our team at Co‑op. In this role, you’ll work in a hybrid way, splitting your time between home and coming into the office once a week.

What you’ll do
  • Be the main point of contact for project and budget cost tracking, dashboards, and external QS management.
  • Track and monitor spend for all construction capital streams, providing updates to the senior teams on performance.
  • Collaborate with finance to consolidate monthly performance insights.
  • Maximise opportunities to drive down costs through collaboration with external QS, construction delivery team, trend analysis, and data interpretation.
  • Provide data to support finance teams with cash forecasting, budgeting and phasing.
  • Offer advice to the property and construction teams, along with business partners at all levels.
  • Manage our external resource to ensure accounts are completed, documentation is in place, and property governance is followed and maintained.
This role will suit people who have
  • Achieved a relevant commercial management or quantity surveying (RICS) qualification, or you have equivalent experience.
  • Experience of working with both clients and contractors.
  • Previous construction or retail experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage with others at all levels of the business.
  • Experience in budget management; end‑to‑end cycle.
