A leading recruitment firm in Scotland is seeking a Workshop Supervisor to coordinate the workshop team, ensuring high standards of repair and maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in plant or vehicle maintenance, possess hands-on leadership qualities, and be confident in carrying out inspections and repairs. This role requires NVQ Level 3 qualifications and a customer-focused approach.
Salary - Up to GBP50,000
Monday - Friday (days only)
You ll be responsible for coordinating the workshop team, ensuring that repair and maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard, and keeping customers updated on progress. This is a hands-on role, so as well as supervising others, you ll be carrying out inspections, fault-finding, and repair work on a variety of specialist assets.
Organise daily workshop activity, allocate jobs, and oversee technician performance.
Provide clear updates to customers, prepare estimates, invoicing, and manage expectations on repair timescales.
Carry out mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repairs.
Background: Skilled in the maintenance and repair of plant or commercial vehicles.
Technical ability: Strong diagnostic knowledge and confidence working across mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
Compliance awareness: Understanding of inspection standards, safety regulations, and quality procedures.
Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 or time served.
Personal approach: A hands-on leader who can motivate a team, work independently, and maintain a professional, customer-focused attitude.
