Overview

Role overview: Warehouse Operatives – new enhanced bonus rates! Earn up to £32,114.88 per year as one of our Weekend Warehouse Operatives. 10am - 10pm weekends (Saturday, Sunday, Monday), Hull (near North Ferriby). £12.54 per hour plus bonuses (up to £135 per week pick bonus and £135 per month attendance bonus). About the role

Heron Foods is one of the UK’s fastest growing food retailers. Our Warehouse Pickers are instrumental in ensuring our busy stores are stocked all year round, delivering value to customers in the heart of their communities, 7 days per week, making 2,132 deliveries per week across over 320 Heron stores.

Responsibilities
  • Pick orders (using a voice-activated headset) and load cages for store deliveries in an accurate and efficient manner. This could be in the freezer, chiller or ambient areas.
  • Work in conditions that may include -25°C in the Freezer section, with appropriate PPE provided.
  • Manage time effectively to achieve pick figures and job standards set by Warehouse Supervisor/Manager.
  • Comply with all Health & Safety responsibilities in line with Company policies and procedures.
Hours, location and pay

Location: Melton site. 36 hours per week, 3 x 12 hour shifts per week, 10am to 10pm, every Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Responsibilities of the Warehouse Picker / Warehouse Operative
  • Pick orders (using a voice-activated headset) and load cages for store deliveries in an accurate and efficient manner, in freezer, chill or ambient areas.
  • Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
Skills and experience
  • Essential: time management, accuracy, energy and a can-do attitude, ability to work to KPI targets.
  • Desirable: previous warehouse experience, experience of using voice picking systems, manual handling experience.
