Overview

Visiting Music Teacher – Guitar (Classical, acoustic, electric and bass)

Dean Close Prep School are looking to appoint a new Visiting Music Teacher (VMT) of Guitar to join our flourishing Music Department. This is a fixed term role for the next 12 months, working set hours per term as per the pupils and music department timetable requires.

As part of our co-curricular provision, our VMT will teach up to 30 pupils on a one-to-one basis, across a range of pupils from Year 3 up to Year 8. There is an option for this opportunity to expand into our Pre-Prep, Year 2.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver one-to-one guitar teaching for up to 30 pupils, across Year 3 to Year 8 (with potential expansion to Pre-Prep, Year 2).
  • Develop a suitable timetable for pupils in collaboration with the Director of Music and the department timetable.
  • Assess and record pupil development and provide feedback to parents and to the pupils.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Music.
  • Detailed understanding of the relevant exam syllabuses for guitars.
  • Strong experience teaching pupils across a variety of age ranges.
Contract and Process
  • Fixed term role for 12 months with set hours per term as per the timetable.
  • Initial interviewing may occur prior to the closing date; applications are encouraged early.
