Salary: £50,000 annual support package + additional allowances (see below)
Contract Type: Full-time (Flexible, home-based)

Are you a Family Support Worker ready to change a life at home?

As a Family Support Worker, you’ve already stepped in during some of the most critical moments in a child’s life. Now, you can be the person who provides not just short-term help—but long-term healing and stability.

Foster Wales Flintshire is looking for compassionate individuals living near Haslingden and Rossendale to become foster carers for young people who are making progress in school and community life, but need a consistent and caring home to stay on that path.

If you’ve supported families in challenging circumstances, worked with multi-agency teams, or helped children overcome trauma, this role will feel like a natural next step.

About the Role

This opportunity involves welcoming a young person into your home full-time—often a child stepping down from residential or high-support care. They may have faced trauma or instability in the past, but are now beginning to settle.

You’ll play a vital role in helping them continue that progress—through safe routines, emotional support, and therapeutic care—all with the backing of a dedicated fostering team.

We’re Looking For Individuals or Couples Who:

Have experience in family support, safeguarding, or direct work with children and young people

Have a spare bedroom

Hold a full UK driving licence

Are reflective, resilient, and open to learning

Ideally don’t have children under 16 at home (though all applications are considered individually)

What You’ll Receive

£50,000 annual support package

Weekly fostering allowance up to £258.79 (around £13,453 per year)

Additional allowances for birthdays, holidays, and Christmas (up to £1,035 annually)

A dedicated social worker and team from Foster Wales Flintshire

A linked experienced foster carer for day-to-day advice and guidance

Trauma-informed and therapeutic training

Peer support groups and well-being sessions

Additional Benefits:

Blue Light Card for nationwide discounts

Membership to The Fostering Network

Access to the Mockingbird model (where available)

Recognition and rewards via the CareFriends app
