Job Responsibility:

The Training Insights Co-ordinator will be responsible for updating training curriculums and competence frameworks to reflect ever-changing business and regulatory needs. They will build and maintain relationships with our external training suppliers and co-ordinate external training requests, enabling the facilitation of timely updates of SAP training records. They will innovate to improve training processes and monitor governance and adherence to new processes and provide administrative support for project implementations when required.

The Training Insights Co-ordinator will build and maintain interactive dashboards that provide comprehensive insights into training plan metrics for all areas across UU (United Utilities). By customising these dashboards to meet the diverse needs of stakeholders, the role ensures alignment with UU's objectives and competence frameworks. They will build and maintain effective communication between subject matter experts, stakeholders, and the training team.

Job Accountabilities
  • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau that provide insights into training plan metrics, including forecasted spend, training completion rates, and competency levels.
  • Customise dashboards to meet the specific needs of different stakeholders, incorporating feedback and insights gathered through ongoing collaboration with subject matter experts (SMEs).
  • Collaborate with SMEs across various departments to understand specific dashboard requirements and ensure that training plans align with business objectives and competence frameworks.
  • Act as a liaison between SMEs and the training team, facilitating communication and knowledge sharing to support the development of effective training solutions.
  • Analyse training data sets to extract key insights and trends relevant to stakeholders' needs and objectives.
  • Create visually engaging representations of training data using various tools and techniques such as charts, graphs, dashboards, and infographics.
  • Work alongside Training Delivery Managers to update and maintain the data in training curriculums to ensure the accuracy of data held.
  • Work closely with the Training Delivery Managers and relevant stakeholders to review and update competence frameworks based on evolving business needs, industry trends, and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure that competence frameworks are accurately reflected in training plans and dashboards, providing a clear framework for assessing employee skills and development needs.
  • Engage with external training suppliers, driving value for money, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality training programs within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Evaluate new training requests, assessing their alignment with strategic objectives and resource availability, and coordinating their implementation in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Provide advice and guidance to colleagues across UU on new training requests.
  • Support the implementation of standardised processes and procedures for handling training requests, ensuring consistency and efficiency in the way they are managed and documented.
  • Champion ED&I principles and practices across UU, advocating for the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of training and development.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all colleagues feel valued, respected, and empowered to grow and succeed.
  • Provide administrative support for project training initiatives. Such as coordinating logistics for training sessions (invites, room bookings & equipment), maintaining training records, and generating reports on training activities and outcomes.
  • Collaborate with the Training Administration and HRMI teams to ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations, and reporting requirements related to training and development activities.
  • Creation of new course set up forms for new training needs.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Extensive amount of practical knowledge gained through experience in data visualization tools, particularly Tableau, with a strong ability to design and create interactive dashboards is essential.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail, capable of producing data and insights to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Previous experience of using people management tools, such as SAP GUI and sound knowledge and understanding of training processes and policies preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Ability to manage own time, prioritising workloads and delivering to tight deadlines in a busy environment.
  • Computer literate with expertise in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel and Power BI.
