Erskine Stewart’s Melville Schools are currently recruiting for a Teacher of English to join The Stewart Melville College on a temporary, part-time basis from 5 January (or as soon after as possible) until 26 June 2026 (subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks). The role is part time, working equivalent to 0.4FTE in a job share arrangement, term time, and remuneration will be dependent on qualifications and experience. As this is a part‑time role, the pro‑rata salary range is £13,941 to £20,191. The role is based at the Queensferry Road site.
The successful candidate must be GTCS‑registered, hold a subject‑specific degree level qualification, and have familiarity with Scottish qualifications. They should be an excellent practitioner, highly organised, and capable of multitasking while maintaining high standards and fostering positive relationships within the school community.
