Our operations are coordinated through a national network of offices located in Aberdeen, Glasgow, Newcastle, Teesside, Great Yarmouth, and our central control tower near the Port of Immingham. This structure allows us to provide consistent, high-quality service with local knowledge and national reach.
We are currently seeking a new team member to join us. This role will involve working across a diverse range of marine agency activities, including but not limited to offshore wind, general cargo, and tanker operations.
Job Summary
- The Candidate will be responsible for logistics support in a busy ship’s agency office based in Stallingborough, Travel to other offices and UK Ports will be required.
- Applicants must have excellent communication and customer service skills to provide the highest standard of service as they will deal with clients in person and on the phone on a daily basis.
- Candidate must have excellent attention to detail and logistical skills to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Candidate will be fully IT literate, particularly with regards to Excel.
- Applicants will be given Full on the job training, however an interest in the maritime sector is an advantage.
- Applicants must be willing to work outside normal office hours as required, this will include on call weekend duty.
Key Tasks
- Arranging port call
- Coordination of procurement: arranging plant hire, welfare facilities, mobile cranes, surveys, transport, storage, ships stores and spare parts and other ad hoc purchases/services.
- Liaise with internal departments providing customs clearance, transport, forwarding and warehousing.
- Liaise with Ship owners, Ships crew, Customers and suppliers
- Arrange crew changes; including transport, accommodation, immigration documentation.
- Liaise with harbour office, berth operators, customs, immigration, and all other relevant Local Port Authorities where required.
- Attention to detail is key as you will be handling/issuing/endorsing important cargo documentation and manifesting when liaising between crew and relevant parties.
- At all times ensure compliance to Health & Safety and Quality Management systems and procedures. Ensure safety of yourself and others around you.
Essential Criteria
- Hard working high achiever with ability to join a team of knowledgeable like-minded people.
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to collate information and problem solve.
- IT literate Word/Excel/Outlook.
- Flexibility with working hours/ability to work out of normal office hours, including weekend duty
- After thorough training be confident to board vessels and attend to the vessel’s logistical requirements on the quayside if required.
- Enthusiasm and curiosity for the business.
- Driving license.
