Overview

Senior Project Manager - Transformation Programme. Contract Type: 9 months. Location: Huddersfield.

Lead a transformative programme overseeing the realignment of production, costs and resources across three workstreams: Products and Assets; Service and Infrastructure; Organisational Structure (including headcount, roles, and skills). Join us in establishing a robust PMO function that will drive meaningful change, collaborating closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing and maintaining comprehensive PMO governance across the transformation programme.
  • Developing and managing detailed project plans, financial forecasts, and resource allocations.
  • Leading risk and issue management processes, implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Supporting preparation for consultation meetings with trade unions regarding workforce changes.
  • Providing regular, clear reporting to senior stakeholders on programme progress.
  • Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and delivery against objectives.
  • Identifying and resolving complex problems that may impede programme success.
  • Ensuring compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements throughout the transformation.
Experience and Skills
  • A proven track record of establishing and managing PMO functions for significant transformation programmes.
  • Demonstrated experience in workforce restructuring projects, including significant headcount reductions and resets.
  • Experience in supporting the preparation for formal consultation processes with trade unions and employee representatives.
  • A strong background in developing and implementing project governance frameworks to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Exceptional financial forecasting and budget management capabilities.
  • Outstanding communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Strong leadership qualities to navigate challenging situations.
  • A deep understanding of project management methodologies and best practises.
