Overview

Kingston upon Thames, London, Greater London, England, SW15. Sanctuary Personnel, an innovative and committed recruitment agency, has a new permanent position available for a Senior Practitioner within the Safeguarding Team to work full time for Achieving for Children, based in Kingston. Salary for this permanent Senior Practitioner role is up to £55,083 per annum.

Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of young people, taking account of their age, culture, religion and linguistic background.
  • Manage an agreed caseload of children and young people in compliance with casework objectives, statutory and departmental policy and procedural requirements, maintaining professional standards across complex cases.
  • Complete longer-term work with families to meet identified needs and improve outcomes for children.
  • Ensure reports prepared for court are of high quality, and support workers in the court process, including giving evidence in court as required.
  • Maintain and update case notes and other records; write reports as required; give evidence in court in relation to care proceedings, if required.
  • Prepare and maintain case records and other casework information on the Integrated Children’s System (ICS) in accordance with department policy and timescales.
  • Monitor service delivery against agreed targets, timescales and resources, and take action to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Keep staff and stakeholders informed of information that affects them and influences service development.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication across children’s social care and with departments and agencies to improve and develop the service.
  • Ensure provision of high-quality services within available resources, responsive to residents/users’ needs and aspirations, regardless of background or ability.
  • Implement Achieving for Children policies and procedures in all duties, including staff support and management, to meet customer care needs and reflect the organisation’s vision and values.
  • Champion diversity and equalities in service delivery and people management; apply ethical reasoning to professional practice and decision making.
Requirements
