Qualifications

Rivan Industries (Rivan.com) is a synthetic fuel company designed to decarbonise heavy industry. We aim to make synthetic fuel cheaper than fossil fuels and sustain life on earth by keeping the CO2 locked underground.

We design and manufacture modular synthetic fuel plants consisting of a DAC system, an Alkaline Electrolyser, and a Sabatier Reactor, whilst vertically integrating with off-grid DC solar and the European gas-grid.Here’s our entire business plan. We’ve recently deployed the UK’s largest synthetic fuel plant and are planning to 1000x this scale in the next 2 years.

One of the key limiting factors of our iteration and development speed is building the power and control systems to bring our designs to life. We’re looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to wrestle our power system needs into neat schematics and enable the regimented flow of electrons to delight our engineers. The role:

• Designing Industrial electrical panels (3ph, Motors, Pumps, Heaters, Remote IO)
  • These panels will be used to power our BoP across our reactor, electrolyser and Direct-air-capture system
• Troubleshooting system faults and bugs The system never runs smoothly!
• Cable schedules & sizingOptimising for assembly speed, ease, and robustness
• BOM cost optimisationEvery component and design requirement should be questioned

Core skills:

• 5+ years of experience
• Circuit diagramming (pref Solidworks Electrical)
• Calculation & implementation of safety instrumented systems
• Certificating panels under Machinery Directive + LVD

Specifics:

• £80-110K Salary depending on experience.
• Significant share options as part of the early team.
