Job summary

A civil engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to lead the technical delivery of highways and infrastructure design projects. You will be responsible for improvement schemes, drainage strategies, and mentoring junior engineers. The ideal candidate will have over 8 years of experience in civil design and a degree in Civil Engineering. This role is based in Leicester Forest East, UK and offers a dynamic work environment.

Engineering @365 is supporting an established civil engineering consultancy with a growing portfolio of development and infrastructure projects across the private and public sectors. The business delivers a broad range of schemes, from small local highway improvements through to large residential, commercial, and mixed‑use developments.

About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Engineer to take a leading role in the technical delivery of highways and infrastructure design projects. You'll work on a mix of improvement schemes, access junction designs, development infrastructure, drainage strategies, and flood risk assessments from concept through to detailed design.

You will provide technical leadership, support junior engineers, and contribute to the development of a strategically important part of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical delivery of highways and civils infrastructure schemes
• Produce designs for access junctions, alignments, drainage strategies, and FRA inputs
• Prepare design work in line with current legislation, policy, standards, and best practice
• Manage tasks to ensure delivery on time, to budget, and to the required quality
• Produce technical reports, calculations, drawings, and design deliverables
• Support and mentor junior engineers and technicians
• Liaise with clients, local authorities, and other stakeholders
• Oversee S278, S38, and S104 designs and support adoption processes
• Contribute to the preparation of fee proposals and design programmes
• Use industry design software, including AutoCAD, Civils 3D, Vehicle Tracking, and drainage modelling packages

What We're Looking For

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or related discipline)
• Around 8+ years’ post‑graduate experience in highways and civils design
• Strong background in horizontal/vertical alignment design and access junction layouts
• Experience delivering S278, S184, S38, and S104 schemes
