A civil engineering design firm based in Derby is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer. The successful candidate will lead the design of SuDS schemes and work with various engineering software, ensuring project delivery meets current design standards. Location: Derby
Salary: 45-52k, depending on experience
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (core hours 9am-4pm)
A fantastic opportunity has opened for an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join a well-established civil engineering design team based in Derby. This role offers exposure to a wide range of projects, strong professional development support, and the chance to contribute to high-quality engineering solutions across multiple sectors.
This position is ideal for a civil engineer who can bring strong technical capability, a logical approach to problem solving, and an ability to communicate confidently with clients, colleagues and stakeholders.
You will take a lead role in the design and drafting of SuDS schemes, external works, and adoptable infrastructure including Section 38 and Section 104 agreements. Project work spans residential, commercial, industrial and mixed‑use developments, with construction values ranging from 250k to 30m. Many schemes are delivered to BIM Level 2.
You will use industry-standard software including MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, PDS, and AutoCAD to produce high‑quality design outputs. The role also involves supporting the team leader in the planning and coordination of workloads, ensuring projects are delivered on programme and to current design standards.
