KBR is seeking a SATCOM Systems Engineer. Remote with occasional travel predominately in area around Ft. Meade MD.

Responsibilities

The SATCOM Systems Engineer, under broad direction, provides expert support, analysis and research into complex problems, processes relating to the subject matter. Serves as a technical expert on high-level project teams, providing technical direction, interpretation and alternatives. Thinks independently and demonstrates superior written and oral communication skills. Possesses a complete understanding and wide experience in applying technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems.

Qualifications

Required:

  • BS Degree or higher
  • 5 years experience in Satellite Communications (SATCOM). Experience with SATCOM ground systems, including modems and teleports
  • Experience with RF Systems and Link Budgets. Proficiency in technical documentation, including CONOPS, ICDs, system specifications, and verification plans
  • Understanding of end-to-end SATCOM system integration, including terrestrial and space segment interfaces
  • Must have a Secret Clearance and be a US Citizen

Desired:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products to include MS Project, MS Visio, etc. - Familiarity with MBSE programs (CAMEO, SparX) and SysML language
  • Defense Acquisition University systems engineering training - INCOSE ASEP certification
  • OCSMP MBSE training and certification
  • Familiarity with DoD SATCOM architectures, including WGS, AEHF, MUOS, and emerging LEO/MEO systems
Work Environment
  • Location: Remote, Occasional travel into Ft. Meade, MD
  • Travel Requirements: Minimal 0-20%
  • Working Hours: Standard

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40hrs

Salary:
The Compensation for this role in the MD area is $110,000-$120,000 a year.
