Kingston GP Chambers are delighted to be supporting the Surbiton and Chessington Primary Care Network (PCN) with their recruitment for a Safeguarding Lead.
TheSurbiton & Chessington PCNs Ltd includes Surbiton Health Centre PCN andChessington & Surbiton PCN, which work together through a limited companywith a joint Board: Surbiton & Chessington PCNs Limited.
The PCNs have 3- and 5-member GP practicesrespectively, and together account for a total registered population of closeto 66,000. The networks have diversecommunities including commuter areas, young families, deprived pockets, andfrail elderly / care homes. The PCNs vision is to help to maintain and improvethe health and healthcare for our local populations, and the sustainability ofour member GP practices, in line with wider NHS strategies and plans.
The post-holder will have a key role in overseeing the quality of safeguarding practice within the PCN, providing support to clinical practitioners and ensuring timely and smooth information exchange between relevant safeguarding partners within the legal framework and supporting the strategic direction across the organisation.
The PCN are very flexible with with this opportunity being a full-time position or part-time depending on the successful candidate's availability

We expect an excellent knowledge of the legislation that supports work to safeguard children and adults. Experience of report writing, audit, supervision/ teaching will be important to help you in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Kingston GP Chambers is a Federation of all NHS General Practices within the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames. It was founded in 2008 as a limited company whose shareholders are all 20 GP Practices within Kingston. The company is led by a Board of Directors who are also GP Partners in their own Practices within Kingston.
Kingston GP Chambers has worked collaboratively with both secondary care and the private sector. At present we provide community clinics for Dermatology, Urology, Neurology, Dementia and Diabetes.
In addition, Kingston GP Chambers are at the forefront of improving patient access to primary care. We deliver a comprehensive extended hours service offering GP appointments across three hubs in the evenings Monday to Friday, over the weekend and on Bank Holidays.
Kingston GP Chambers has the ability to respond rapidly, and we have continued to demonstrate the capability to provide high-quality, innovative and timely solutions to improving patient care and experience.
We work closely alongside the other GP Federations in Southwest London to continue the government's five-year forward plan and deliver patient services in the community.
We aim to continue to grow as we are increasingly recognised as the provider of choice for extended, enhanced and urgent GP services.
We also expect an increasing role as we support, reinforce and develop the position of general practice as the core building block for an increasing range of jointly-provided services.
Summary

You will have a key role in overseeing the quality of safeguarding practice within the PCN, providing support to clinical practitioners and ensuring timely and smooth information exchange between relevant safeguarding partners within the legal framework and supporting the strategic direction across the organisation.
You will have a relevant health/social work qualification and significant professional experience working with children and adults with evidence of exposure to safeguarding casework and an emphasis on the principles outlined in Making Safeguarding Personal.
We expect an excellent knowledge of the legislation that supports work to safeguard children and adults. Experience of report writing, audit, supervision/ teaching will be important to help you in this role.
You will need to be able to demonstrate good communication skills and effective team working within the PCN and with other agencies including the local authorities and healthcare providers. This post will provide expert clinical leadership and direction for safeguarding children and adults and ensure that the PCN and practices fulfil statutory obligations in the services they deliver.
