Main duties of the job

To provide and maintain a high standard of evidence based, patient centred care. To demonstrate good interpersonal skills and to develop practical skills required within the speciality, whist reflecting the philosophy of care.

To deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centred care delivery, which builds on the philosophy of greater involvement of patients and their relatives/carers by using the Trusts patient and public involvement strategy.

Post holders will also provide effective clinical and managerial leadership of the department, in the absence of the senior members of the team, which empowers staff to deliver patient- centred, evidence based nursing care.

The Post Holder will gain an invaluable opportunity to broader their clinical knowledge in neurological conditions on a rotational aspects with the potential to specialise in the future.

Qualifications
  • Degree or equivalent professional qualifications
  • Post Graduate education to Masters level and / or post graduate clinical training in relevant specialist area
  • Non-medical prescribing or willingness to work towards
  • Physical assessment and clinical reasoning qualification or willingness to work towards
  • 2 years in neurology services or 1 years for consideration for developmental role
Experience
  • Extensive proven post graduate NHS experience with extensive clinical experience relevant to the post.Experience of working across organisational boundaries in a health care settingExperience of providing high quality effective services within resource limitsExperience of change management and of developing and implementing new models of care
  • Experience in line management.
