About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to lead the opening and ongoing management of a brand-new 3-bed childrens residential home in Solihull.

This home is being developed by qualified clinicians in partnership with a consultancy team, designed to provide a therapeutic, safe, and nurturing environment for children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).

As the Registered Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing registration, compliance, and the creation of a warm, trauma-informed home where young people can heal, grow, and thrive.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the setup and Ofsted registration of a new childrens home, including policy development, recruitment, and staff training.

Ensure full compliance with Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Ofsted Quality Standards.

Manage daily operations, care delivery, and team performance.

Recruit, supervise, and motivate a skilled, compassionate staff team.

Act as the Registered Manager, ensuring safeguarding, quality assurance, and positive inspection outcomes.

Build collaborative relationships with local authorities, education, and health professionals.

Create a therapeutic, learning-focused culture that promotes the wellbeing of both children and staff.

Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a Registered Manager in a childrens residential home (EBD).
  • Proven experience setting up and registering new homes with Ofsted.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards completion).
  • In-depth understanding of Childrens Homes Regulations, safeguarding, and trauma‑informed care.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
  • Emotionally intelligent, resilient, and committed to child‑centred care.
