Product Manager – Local Government

£450 per day | Inside IR35 | 3-month rolling contract

Hybrid – London (4 days per month on site)

Salt is recruiting a Product Manager to join a London Borough Local Government body on a rolling 3-month contract, paying £450 per day inside IR35.

This role sits within the Web and Digital team, part of the council’s Technology and Digital Services function. It is an excellent opportunity to lead the end-to-end delivery of digital products that are user-focused, accessible, and data-driven.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the full product lifecycle, from strategy and discovery through to delivery and iteration
  • Define product vision, strategy, and roadmaps, aligning cross-functional teams around shared goals
  • Prioritise features and user needs, making data-driven decisions and iterating based on feedback
  • Work closely with developers, designers, researchers, and senior stakeholders to deliver user-centred solutions
  • Track and monitor product performance, outcomes, and KPIs to ensure continuous improvement
Essential Experience
  • Proven experience as a Product Manager within Local Government or Central Government (applications without this will not be considered)
  • Strong background in agile methodologies, product roadmaps, and user-centred digital delivery
  • Ability to engage with multidisciplinary teams and influence stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience in measuring value and using data to drive product decisions
Contract Details
  • Rate: £450 per day (Inside IR35)
  • Duration: 3-month rolling contract
  • Location: Hybrid, with 4 days per month on site Central London
