What will you be doing as our new Principal Process Engineer?

  • Lead by reviewing the mandate, preparing a scope, methodology, programme, and resource estimate for the design stage of the project, and support during construction.
  • Embed within the SPA delivery team, responsible for a section of the design output, liaising with mechanical and electrical engineers, Design Leads, and other disciplines.
  • Work alongside the Process Lead to develop and understand the system-wide performance of pipelines and assets, and their interaction with existing AWS systems.
  • Develop water quality design proposals, agree these with the client, and provide information to the production and delivery teams for key scheme gateways.

Key responsibilities:

  • Design of process systems for clean water pumping stations, dosing packages, and control systems, incorporating complex hydraulics and system control.
  • Perform process calculations to produce datasheets or requirement specifications for projects.
  • Handle hydraulics, unit processes, pump calculations, capacity assessments, water quality, control philosophies, SCADA, and system commissioning.
  • Support the Process Discipline Head in promoting health & safety, ensuring designs comply with CDM Regulations, standards, and codes of practice.
  • Ensure all technical work meets standards and specifications.
  • Maintain quality and consistency of process engineering documents.
  • Work with leads to ensure technical deliverables are checked and approved.
