Overview

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a highly skilled and versatile Engagement Manager (EM) to lead the delivery of complex cloud solution projects. This role combines technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful implementations of AWS-based solutions for clients. You will bridge business requirements with technical solutions, facilitate technical discussions, and ensure alignment with customer outcomes. Applying AWS frameworks like Well-Architected and Cloud Adoption Framework, you will demonstrate technical credibility across diverse stakeholders, distill customer needs into clear technical requirements, decompose complex problems, and make trade-off decisions considering performance, scalability, security, and business impact.

You will validate technical solutions against business goals, recognize when additional technical evaluation is needed, and manage technical risks. You will be expected to achieve and maintain relevant AWS certifications, develop domain-specific expertise, and communicate technical concepts to both technical and business audiences. As you progress, you will lead increasingly complex technical projects, shape cross-organizational technical strategies, and establish best practices in your domain. You will apply management and leadership capabilities to execute project plans, proactively identify and manage risks, resolve issues, escalate when appropriate, and drive projects to successful completion while exceeding customer expectations.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts that help customers realize their desired business outcomes when using the AWS Cloud. We work with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, providing guidance through a collection of offerings that help customers achieve specific outcomes related to enterprise cloud adoption. We also deliver focused guidance through global specialty practices covering a variety of solutions, technologies, and industries.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
  • Experience in program or project management
  • Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
  • Experience managing projects across cross-functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
  • Experience communicating and delivering presentations to customers, stakeholders, and/or teammates
  • Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience defining KPI\u2019s/SLA\u2019s used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership
  • Experience communicating to senior management and customers verbally and in writing
  • Project management certification such as PMP, Scrum, or other Agile certification
  • Experience in customer-facing business presentations covering business and technical aspects or equivalent
  • Experience in leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with a proven record of thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
