A local authority in Coventry is recruiting a Senior Practitioner for their Emergency Duty Team. This role involves overseeing Children and Family Workers and responding to urgent social care requests outside standard hours. Candidates must hold current Social Work England registration and have relevant statutory work experience. The position offers a chance to make a meaningful impact in community welfare.
We are currently recruiting for a Senior Practitioner to join our Emergency Duty Team on a permanent part time basis. The Emergency Duty Team (out of hours social care) offers essential support services outside standard office hours to address urgent social care needs and reduce the likelihood of emergencies. EDT handles social care emergencies that cannot be safely left to the following working day and responds to the whole Coventry community, including Children’s Services, Housing, Adult Social Care and Youth Justice Services, aligning with the overarching principles and objectives of these disciplines. The Emergency Duty Team provides an out of hours emergency service between 5pm and 8.30am throughout the week, including weekends, and are office based during these times. The team responds to safeguarding concerns relating to children, young people, their families and adults, and also provides an out of hours housing service.
The post holder will be responsible for overseeing and supporting the work of Children and Family Workers. In partnership with agencies, the post holder will respond to all requests for assistance received during the work shift with a particular focus on promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children, adults and families of Coventry until core working hours. All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. This role does not offer sponsorship. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and appointment is conditional upon a satisfactory DBS check.
