Overview

As Outreach Delivery Assistant, you will play a vital role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of outreach programmes that support students from diverse backgrounds to explore their potential and consider Oxford as a realistic and exciting option for higher education. You will work closely with colleagues across the department and wider University to ensure the smooth running of events and initiatives, and help build meaningful connections with schools, students, and communities. You will contribute to the delivery of key programmes under the University's Access and Participation Plan (APP) including:

Responsibilities
  • BeUNIQ: a sustained-contact programme for UK state-school students aged 14-16 from groups and regions under-represented at Oxford, including certain ethnic minority communities and those from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds. It offers tailored support, mentoring, and guidance to help participants explore their sense of self and prepare competitive applications to the UNIQ programme and Oxford undergraduate study.
  • Opportunity Oxford: a university-wide access programme for UK offer-holders from under-represented backgrounds, providing academic preparation and support to help participants transition confidently into undergraduate study.
  • Oxplore: Oxford's digital outreach platform, designed to engage 11-18-year-olds with big questions that encourage critical thinking and debate, broadening access to higher education through interactive content.
  • Deliver Outreach Activities: Support the planning and delivery of outreach programmes and events, including presentations to varied audiences such as students, teachers, parents, and community groups.
  • Coordinate Communications and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a point of contact for external enquiries, contribute to marketing and communications (including social media and written correspondence), and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and participants.
  • Provide Administrative and Logistical Support: Assist with scheduling and logistical arrangements for outreach events, and be responsible for liaising with internal and external partners, providers and venues.
  • Manage Student Ambassador Processes: Oversee recruitment, registration, DBS checks, and training for student ambassadors and mentors involved in outreach programmes.
  • Support Data and Financial Administration: Handle data and validation, and assist with financial processes including purchase orders, payments, and budget reconciliation.
