Overview

Flexible on location of successful applicant as this is a national role. DHL Supply Chain invites you to join a team that champions personal and professional growth, delivering meaningful impact across the organization. We are seeking an Operations Director with profound expertise in the convenience and food sector, multisite leadership experience, and a proven track record in large-scale operations.

Do you have experience in network-wide, multisite warehousing and transportation and a history of driving value from open and closed book commercial mechanisms? If so, we would love to hear from you.

Position Overview

As an Operations Director with DHL Supply Chain, you will lead strategic initiatives in budget and resource management, operational performance, and talent development. You will interface with customers to negotiate and resolve needs, establish annual and multi-year priorities and growth targets for each opportunity, and balance the needs of multiple sites and customers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide People Leadership by championing deep team engagement, fostering ownership, and aligning team members with the organization’s vision.
  • Provide Operational Leadership through a team of General Managers to deliver world-class, safe operations and drive a continuous improvement agenda to delight customers.
  • Manage Customer Relationships by serving as the primary interface for negotiations and issue resolution, identifying opportunities to enhance and deepen relationships.
  • Lead Contract Negotiations and oversee third-party supplier negotiations within strict budget constraints.
  • Develop Business Strategy by analyzing industry trends and market forces to formulate and execute growth plans.
  • Foster Complex Problem Solving by promoting collaboration to deliver integrated solutions and drive transformational change.
  • Build a High-Performance Culture by cultivating respect and excellence within a matrix environment, and by developing management capabilities through performance management, coaching, mentoring, and development of teams and individuals.
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead high-performing, engaged teams to achieve objectives across people, financial, customer, and operations dimensions.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience driving and setting strategic direction within a national contract.
  • A deep passion for world-class safe operations and a strong focus on continuous improvement to consistently delight customers.
  • Experience with network-wide transformation and continuous improvement project leadership and delivery.
  • Growth-oriented and ambitious, with a strong commitment to exceptional customer service.
