Overview

We are seeking a Nursery Room Leader to work in a nursery in Astwick. Please only apply if you have a minimum Level 3 childcare qualification alongside experience as a practitioner or room leader.

Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare and participate in activities that stimulate the interest of the children and babies.
  • Take the Equal Opportunities policy and issues of diversity into account, and support awareness of how books and play materials in the nursery develop and celebrate diversity among children within the local community.
  • Work independently on occasion with support from the Manager and Directors.
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally with children, parents and external agencies.
  • Supervise and delegate staff appropriately, with awareness of legislative requirements.
  • Maintain routines and respond flexibly to service demands.
  • Carry out duties to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and take pride in the environment.
  • Encourage equal opportunities and focus on safeguarding and the well-being of the children at all times.
  • Support and advise the rest of the team to maintain good relations with staff, volunteers, students and parents.
  • Provide an emotionally and psychologically safe environment for the children in our care, including visitors.
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 childcare qualification and relevant experience as a practitioner or room leader.
  • Experience in nursery settings, including supervisory or management roles preferred.
  • Driving licence preferred.
  • GCSE or equivalent (preferred).
  • Experience: Nursery 1 year (preferred); Childcare 1 year (preferred); Management 1 year (preferred).
