Job summary

A leading recruitment agency seeks a Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent role in Scotland. You will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The ideal candidate will have NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline and experience with PLC systems. Competitive salary of up to £52,000 plus benefits, including training and excellent pension options. Shift work is required.

Qualifications

  • Experience with automated materials handling or packaging machines preferred.
  • Proactive approach to fault finding required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform planned and reactive maintenance to ensure maximum line efficiency.
  • Diagnose faults in PLC controlled equipment and attend to onsite breakdowns.
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on various automation machinery.

Job Type: Permanent

Reward: Up to £52,000 , overtime , plus package and £2k Bonus

Location: Greater Glasgow, East side,Central Belt

Nearby towns: Motherwell, Uddingston, Coatbridge, Hamilton, Glasgow

Client: FMCG Consumer Manufacturing

Rotating Shifts

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for a combination of planned and reactive maintenance and technical challenges to ensure maximum line efficiency
  • Perform fault-finding and diagnosis on a range of PLC controlled equipment
  • Attend to breakdowns onsite ensuring a rapid response on plant equipment and machinery breakdowns
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of Automation machinery including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and robots
  • Deliver on plant uptime and maintenance KPI's through planned, preventative and predictive maintenance.
  • Ensure the efficient running of a continuous process, moving and packing high quality products, packaged and prepared for delivery
  • Continually improving performance of equipment and systems to support the development of the site
  • Agree preventative electrical maintenance plans
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline in electrical mechanical in maintenance engineering
  • Ideally automated materials handling and or packaging machines
  • Production line experience but qualified engineers will be offered training and development
  • A proactive approach to fault finding, a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
  • Computer literate
