Job summary

A leading recruitment consultancy is seeking a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer for a permanent position in the Crewe area. The successful candidate will have a strong mechanical background and electrical fault finding skills. The role involves maintenance of various systems and requires flexibility in working hours. A competitive salary of £50,000 - £55,000 plus callout payments is offered.

Qualifications

  • Strong manufacturing background in reactive & PPM work.
  • Some form of electrical training, such as 18th Edition, preferred.
  • Responsible for maintaining engineering stores & parts.

Responsibilities

  • Covering double day shifts from 6am to 9pm.
  • Maintain and install mechanical systems.
  • Work closely with the Electrical Engineer on site.

Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer

Permanent

Location: Crewe Area

Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 + Callout Payments

Hours: Double Day Shifts Monday to Friday (6am - 9pm coverage)

Our client, a UK leading manufacturer, require a Multi-Skilled Mechanically biased Maintenance Engineer. This is a permanent position working on double days (covering hours from 6am - 9pm) & paying £50,000 - £55,000 per annum + Callout payments. The company has invested heavily in its modern manufacturing facility, & due to increased workloads, are now looking to add to the engineering team. The position is based in the Crewe area and is commutable from Congleton, Middlewich, Stoke-on-Trent, Nantwich, Winsford & Holmes Chapel.

Requirements / Experience
  • Apprentice trained in Mechanical Engineering, ideally HNC level.
  • Strong manufacturing background in reactive & PPM work.
  • Electrical fault finding skills also required with a role split of 70/30 Mech/Elec bias.
  • Some form of electrical training, such as 18th Edition, preferred and some experience of PLC fault finding skills.
  • Solid mechanical engineering experience covering maintenance and installation of:
    • Bearing replacement (e.g. on rollers, cutters)
    • Belt and pulley systems
    • Alignment of shafts and rollers
    • Lubrication systems (automated or manual)
    • Replacement of pneumatic fittings or solenoid valves
    • Rewiring sensors or actuators
    • Cleaning ink delivery and web tension systems
  • Responsible for maintaining engineering stores & parts & work to continual improvement of the PM system.
  • Flexible, proactive, able to manage own workloads and work closely with the Electrical Engineer on site.
