Overview

Teaching Personnel is looking for a passionate and adaptable Media Teacher to deliver GCSE-level 1:1 tuition to a student within a low-level SEMH provision located in Harwood (BL2), between Bolton and Bury.

This is a unique opportunity to teach in a highly supportive and therapeutic setting that promotes student engagement through hands-on, holistic learning.

Responsibilities

Deliver GCSE Media Studies at a 1:1 level within a low-level SEMH provision. Coordinate with the client and school environment to support student engagement and progress. Maintain professional standards and adapt sessions to meet student needs within safeguarding guidelines. (Note: Specific timetable is flexible, with hours including 1 hour on Monday and 1 hour on Tuesday or 2 hours on one day.)

About the provision

This setting is based on a 5-acre working farm and provides students with a calm, therapeutic learning environment. The site includes:

  • Over 30 animals including alpacas, goats, emus, donkeys, and more

  • Forest school area with adventure trail, fire pit, and orchard

  • Food tech room, horticulture area, and classroom space

  • Students engage in outdoor learning, cookery, animal care, and growing their own produce alongside their academic subjects

Location: Harwood, BL2 (between Bolton and Bury). Pay: In line with the teacher pay scale (MPS/UPS), depending on experience. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position with potential for permanency.
