Job summary

A leading manufacturing company north of York is seeking Mechanical Technicians for permanent positions to support expanding operations. Responsibilities include mechanical assembly, load testing, and ensuring project completion while adhering to safety practices. Ideal candidates will have technical competence in mechanical assembly and an understanding of hydraulic systems. Competitive pay and overtime available.

Qualifications

  • Ideally time served in a Mechanical discipline.
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches.
  • Candidates with a light vehicle/HGV/rail or agricultural maintenance background would be well suited.

Responsibilities

  • Load testing of equipment as required.
  • Complete all necessary documentation according to requirements.

Overview

Our client, a leading manufacturing company north of York, is looking to recruit Mechanical Technicians to join the business on a permanent basis. This recruitment drive is due to order books continually expanding and needing additional staff to manage the workload.

Hours

Mon - Thurs (Apply online only) / Friday 08:30 - 16:00. OT is also available all week, paid at premium rates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical assembly of sub-assembly and final build components
  • Load testing of equipment as required
  • Testing of hydraulic hoses/pipe and components as assigned
  • Interface with planning department, engineering and quality control to ensure completion of projects
  • Complete all necessary documentation according to requirements (including timesheets, NCRs, ECNs, etc.)
  • Carry out workshop maintenance as assigned
  • Carry out tasks safely using good working practices
  • Ensure risk assessments are carried out prior to start of work and during
Skills & Qualifications
  • Ideally time served in a Mechanical discipline
  • A good understanding of hydraulic systems
  • Technical competence in Mechanical Assembly, using basic hand/power tools and test equipment
  • Must be able to read and interpret drawings and sketches
