A forward-thinking educational organization in Sowerby Bridge is seeking a dedicated Mathematics Tutor to provide tailored support to students. The role requires delivering effective tutoring interventions, collaborating with the Head of Mathematics, and preparing individualized learning plans. Ideal candidates should exhibit strong communication and time-management skills, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges in their learning. Salary: D – E, NJC range 7 – 15 (depending on experience and qualifications) Full Time: £26,403 - £30,024 Actual: £19,747 - £22,456
Contract: Permanent. Term Time Only plus 2 days
Hours: 32 Hours 30 minutes per week. Monday to Friday 8.20am – 3.20pm
Closing Date: Monday 19th January 2026 at 9am

Start Date: Monday 23rd February 2026
*Unqualified Teachers(student teachers, teacher trainees who have yet to pass the skills test and those undertaking employment‑based teacher training leading to QTS)will be paid on the unqualified teachers scales depending on experience and qualifications.

Working closely with the Head of Mathematics and a Maths team, the successful candidate will provide high-quality tutoring support to students across a range of abilities and year groups. This role is ideal for someone who is committed to raising attainment, closing learning gaps, and supporting students to reach their full potential using targeted support through a variety of methods, including small-group sessions, one-to-one tutoring and in-class support.
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator, able to build positive and professional relationships with students, staff, and parents. You will work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating strong organisational and time‑management skills, and contributing positively to the wider school.
