Qualifications

About the role

Provide competent hands‑on skills to ensure all hotel systems are maintained in good working order. To ensure all daily tasks are completed and documented. To assist the Maintenance Manager with all aspects of compliance. To ensure all maintenance team training is up to date. To deputise for the Maintenance Manager in his absence.

Responsibilities

Deal with electrical, sewage, plumbing, heating and lighting issues and to ensure that they are maintained in good working order and that any defects are corrected promptly and properly utilising H Mobile.

Ensure all hotel fixtures, fittings and equipment are maintained in good working condition and that defects are corrected promptly and recorded.

To undertake regular inspections of the fabric of the building and effect all necessary repairs. To report back any defects that may require the further skills of the Maintenance Manager.

Ensure all areas of the hotel are maintained in a safe condition and take action immediately when unsafe situations arise and record findings.

Develop an understanding of switching and control arrangements of plant and ensure that it is kept in an optimal operational condition. Be aware of energy conservation and take necessary action in cost control.

Be fully conversant with the Hotel BMS systems.

Keep up to date with all legislation as it relates to CCTV and data protection and seek direction in all cases of difficulty from Head of Security and the Maintenance Manager.

Be aware of, and implement all company, statutory and legal requirements including Fire, Health and Safety, Asbestos, Legionella, Hygiene & Electricity at Work act and all compliant Bylaws.

Be fully conversant with the company policies and procedures on:

  1. Fire and Bombs (Hotel policy and procedures).
  2. Fire marshalling.
  3. Emergency Evacuation.
  4. Training and Development.
  5. Health, Safety and Accident Reporting.
  6. Alert 65.
  7. H Mobile.
  8. Purchase ordering system and procedures.
  9. Daily, weekly and monthly meetings.
