Job description
Overview

Are you a Pharmacist with a passion for developing others, leading a service and making a difference? We are looking for a motivated individual to manage our team of Foundation Pharmacists, oversee the on‑call service, and lead the pharmacist service in the dispensaries at Southampton General Hospital and at the Royal South Hants (RSH) hospital. You will be compassionate, organised, flexible and a great communicator.

Responsibilities
  • Co‑ordinate the rotation for sixteen Foundation Pharmacists (rotating every 6–12 weeks) and line manage these individuals.
  • Provide pastoral support, respond to issues arising in rotations, and oversee assigned mentors for each pharmacist.
  • Manage the on‑call service for University Hospital Southampton (UHS). On‑call pharmacists provide a telephone‑based service from home overnight, coming on site only if necessary.
  • Support the training of pharmacists in dispensary rotations and provide cross‑cover when required.
  • Coordinate with the senior pharmacist for dispensaries who provides support and supervision in the absence of the post holder.
