Job description

Based in Shropshire, PCB Solicitors specialize in business, agricultural & personal law. We have a large number of offices, covering Shropshire and Mid-Wales borders.

Full-time position available for the right candidate.

  1. Provide administrative support across all HR functions.
  2. Update employee records using the HR system, including sickness absence, maternity/paternity, TOIL, and changes to staff details such as address or telephone numbers.
  3. Assist with drafting job adverts for approval by hiring managers before uploading to relevant job boards such as the website, LinkedIn, Indeed, and social media.
  4. Assist in coordinating recruitment and onboarding processes.
  5. Help draft contracts, letters, and other HR documents.
  6. Respond to general HR queries from staff in a professional and confidential manner.
  7. Support organizing training sessions and tracking attendance.
  8. Assist with payroll and absence reporting tasks.
  9. Ensure HR systems and filing are accurate and up to date.
  10. Support employee engagement activities and internal communications.
  11. Carry out pre-employment checks for new hires, including retrieving references, completing DBS checks, and conducting right-to-work checks in a timely manner.
  12. Liaise with the IT Administrator and Practice Manager for IT & Facilities requirements and assist other administrative areas when workloads permit.
  13. Stay informed of relevant HR policies and employment law basics.
  14. Attend one Tuesday evening session per week at Telford College, 6pm - 9pm.
  15. Work with an assigned mentor within the workplace.
  16. Participate in assessor visits from Telford College.

Working hours are Monday to Friday; specific times to be confirmed.
