Laboratory Technician

As our company grows and develops, we are ever expanding our teams. We have a great opportunity for a dedicated Forensic technician to join our Environmental Science Division and wear the SOCOTEC badge with pride.

We are looking for a reliable, motivated and committed Laboratory Technician to join our Forensics team. As a member of our team, it is key that you are able to work efficiently and independently, as well as working well as part of a wider team. While you may be performing the same array of tests day to day, the projects you will support will constantly change.

Responsibilities

• Preparation of samples to strict turnaround times highlighting any cases with issues and being proactive with ideas to recover lost time
• Running and processing of samples on a daily basis with passing results
• Quality control analysing failure rates and completing forms in a timely manner

Qualifications

• Working as part of a team to ensure all work is completed
• Good timekeeping
• Independent problem solving using assistance when required
• Attention to detail

About Forensics

Our Forensics department is fairly unique in terms of the tests carried out. We provide forensic testing and analysis of drugs captured within the UK to support the UK police forces. By doing so, we can help the police forces to understand the substances trying to enter our country, and the substances in circulation. Overall, our work helps to keep the UK safer and aid the police in their work.
