Reed is recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected client in the infrastructure and highways sector. We're seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Estimator/Commercial Assistant to join their growing commercial team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their career in estimating.

Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documents and prepare pricing schedules
• Take off from Survey data.
• Develop tenders, budgets, and cost estimates from first principles or schedules of rates
• Issue material and subcontract enquiries
• Complete and submit tender documentation
• Maintain accurate records and databases of cost rates and contractual arrangements
• Liaise with internal teams to ensure pricing sufficiency
• Provide commercial support to operational teams and contribute to continuous improvement

Qualifications

• We are looking for candidates with a HNC or equivalent in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or a related field, ideally in Construction.
• Knowledge of estimating and recognised measurement method.
• Commercial and technical competence with risk awareness
• Strong MS Excel skills; working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, some experience in taking off from drawings would be an advantage.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and time management skills.
