Job summary

A government department in Northern Ireland is offering a work experience opportunity at the ReStore Warehouse in Ballymena. Participants will gain retail experience, support collection operations, sort donations, and provide customer service. This program lasts 8 weeks with hours from 25-30 per week, and participants may receive reimbursements for travel and childcare. An incentive payment of £10 per day is also available.

Responsibilities

  • Sort donated goods, including pricing and barcoding stock.
  • Ensure high presentation standards of stock on the shop floor.
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle inquiries.
  • Operate the Till system, managing donations and payments.
  • Maintain cleanliness and adhere to health & safety regulations.
  • Attend necessary training.

DFC Work Experience - ReStore Warehouse & Collections

At Habitat ReStore, Individuals will gain work experience within a retail environment. Individuals will gain experience in various retail operations. Tasks include customer service, assisting with collections, sorting and displaying of donations.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Donations Collection Team with the collection of donations in the Habitat van.
  • Sort donated goods, this could include the pricing and barcoding of stock.
  • Ensure a high standard of presentation, display and merchandising of stock on the shop floor.
  • Provide excellent customer service, handling customer queries in person and on the phone.
  • Operating the electronic Till system, including the booking of donation collections and processing payments.
  • Assist with keeping the store clean and tidy and that health & safety regulations are adhered to.
  • Attend appropriate training as required.

Further Information

This work experience opportunity is expected to last for 8 weeks and will require attendance of 25 - 30 hours per week. While on Work Experience, participants will retain their entitlement to benefit. Travel and childcare costs may be reimbursed.
