I am delighted to be working with a thriving business to help support them to recruit an experienced Credit Controller to join their business.

Role Overview

You will manage your own portfolio of customers, ensuring timely debt collection and collaborating with internal teams to resolve queries and reduce aged debt. This role involves engaging with stakeholders to resolve credit issues, so strong communication and relationship-building skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a portfolio of customers, leveraging relationships to maximize cash collection.
  • Prioritize daily tasks to meet both customer service and financial targets.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve account queries and negotiate payments.
  • Work closely with managers to address challenging accounts and propose solutions.
  • Process payments via debit or credit card.
  • Assist in forecasting cash collections with team managers and department heads.
  • Recommend next steps for unrecoverable debts.
  • Perform ad hoc duties as required.
Skills & Knowledge
  • Proven ability to meet targets consistently.
  • Strong debt management skills with timely resolution.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables).
Experience Required
  • Minimum 2 years in a similar credit control role.
  • 3+ years managing high-value customers and/or high-volume accounts.
  • Experience in processing defaults and maintaining accurate customer notes in finance systems.
  • Background in change management or process improvement.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
