An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for a General Adult Psychiatrist to be part of a Multidisciplinary Team as a full time Inpatient Consultant on Willow Ward at the Derwent Unit, Chesterfield with Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. This is a 10 PA job.
Willow ward is an 18-bed female ward for adults of working age. Willow ward is a part of a new purpose built Inpatient Psychiatric 54 bed Acute Unit called Derwent Unit at Chesterfield, under the Making Room for Dignity (MRFD) programme of Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust.
As a clinical leader you will be involved in shaping and developing the service. You will also have opportunities to grow and enhance your skills as a clinician and develop evidence based innovative practices.
The Consultant's role is to provide consultant and Approved Clinician responsibility for all patients on Willow Ward. Consultants will be responsible for the treatment given to patients in their care, for the prompt and comprehensive assessment of admissions, for diagnosis and treatment of patients, for regularly reviewing patients, and for the proper administration of the Mental Health Act in relation to detained patients, preparing tribunal reports and attendance at tribunals. They will be supported by the junior medical staff and the consultant is responsible for the appropriate delegation, organisation and supervision of the junior medical staff in the team.
