Responsibilities

  • Interpret and understand project documentation including drawings and specifications.
  • Build components and assemblies to defined dimensions.
  • Conduct product testing in line with customer-approved testing procedures.
  • Perform paint preparation and painting according to procedures.
  • Record productive and non-productive time to support cost allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management System and industry standards.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your own work.
  • Carry out maintenance and repair work and produce detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to resolve issues.
  • Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and within defined parameters.

Our client an established engineering manufacturer is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Engineer to join their growing team in Worthing. This role involves hands‑on assembly, testing, and quality assurance of engineered products, working closely with technical documentation and customer specifications. The successful candidate will play a key part in delivering high‑quality products and supporting continuous improvement across the business.

Key Duties
  • Interpret and fully understand project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and scope of supply.
  • Build components and assemblies to defined dimensions and tolerances, following all approved procedures.
  • Conduct product testing in line with customer-approved testing procedures, often in the presence of customers or third‑party inspectors.
  • Perform paint preparation and painting in accordance with customer and internal procedures.
  • Accurately record all productive and non‑productive time to support correct cost allocation.
  • Ensure all work complies with the company’s Quality Management System and relevant industry and HSE standards.
  • Take responsibility for the quality of your own work and contribute actively to ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
  • Carry out in‑house maintenance and repair work, including strip‑down and assessment of customer equipment and production of detailed reports.
  • Collaborate with engineers, production staff, and other departments to resolve assembly or production issues.
  • Complete all tasks efficiently, accurately, and within defined time and cost parameters.
