Overview

Clinical Assistant Professor in Veterinary Clinical Pathology. Based at the Sutton Bonington Campus, the role contributes to the development of future veterinary surgeons and veterinary clinical pathologists by sharing knowledge and experience to ensure competence and inspire life-long learning in veterinary clinical pathology.

University of Nottingham, School of Veterinary Medicine and Science seeks to expand its veterinary pathology team with the appointment of a veterinary clinical pathologist. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to teaching and postgraduate training within an environment that supports research-led education.

Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of year-5 clinical rotation teaching and to the delivery and assessment of relevant subject teaching in the first four years of the course.
  • Assist in the further development of the School’s programme of postgraduate training in clinical pathology.
  • Collaborate with university pathologists, clinicians, and clinical associates to provide support and guidance across onsite laboratories and associated diagnostic services.
  • Engage in collaboration with the school’s diagnostic anatomic pathology service to support cytology-histopathology corelates where appropriate.
  • Support and contribute to the School’s diverse range of research activities and facilities.
  • Contribute to student mentoring, assessment, and the supervision of learners within the clinical pathology domain.
Qualifications
  • Veterinary degree registrable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS).
  • Completed a postgraduate training programme in veterinary clinical pathology or possess equivalent experience.
  • Experience in academic or commercial diagnostic service environments with strong diagnostic and communication skills.
Requirements and Working Arrangements
  • Permanent contract; full-time hours of work are 36.25 per week. Applications from part-time candidates and job-share arrangements may be considered.
  • Salary on the clinical veterinary assistant professor scale with potential for an additional non-consolidated clinical supplement of up to 20%, depending on duties and experience.
