Overview

Are you a caring individual who has a genuine passion for helping and supporting others as they progress into adulthood? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join our team based in Walsall as a Children's Residential Support Worker where we provide a warm and safe haven for our young people to thrive and grow. Our warm and modern homes are surrounded by our wonderful team who have made the house a home and ensure our young people make memories daily with a home filled with love, laughter and fun.

We currently have 2 homes for young people aged 7 -18 with learning disabilities, complex needs and Autism, we provide them the platform to express their views and feelings at all times and help them on their journey into adulthood by teaching them vital life skills and giving them the confidence to learn new skills.

Role and environment

The role is unique as no two days are the same, although this role is demanding, this is far outweighed by the fantastic outcomes we regularly achieve for our young people. We are looking for patient, understanding and resilient individuals who are committed to supporting our young people daily.

Qualifications and experience
  • Ideally you must have residential care experience and specifically young people, or a background in education would be sufficient
  • A UK driving Licence is essential for this position as you will occasionally be asked to take the young people to School or any local appointments.
Shifts, rota and contract
  • Shifts for the role will be 10am to 10pm or 8am to 8pm and will include weekends and some Bank Holidays and 1 sleep shift per week.
  • Flexible to the young people's needs. The rota will be available in advance so you can achieve the perfect work/life balance.
  • The contract is a minimum of 36 hours per week plus overtime available if required.
Salary and development
  • Salary for the role is £12.50 per hour (plus sleep bonus of £40 per completed sleep).
