Job description
Overview

This is a strategic business management role within the Markets Operations (MO) Chief of Staff office, requiring an understanding of Operations, the ability to navigate across multiple operations disciplines to identify strategic development needs, and ensure solutions are linked to operational goals and strategic initiatives. You will drive the strategy and oversight of MO learning, connecting the dots across Markets and HR stakeholders, to provide a holistic overview to MO leadership. You will ensure that solutions developed are “fit-for-purpose” and drive measurable improvements within MO, acting as the bridge from the business to other parts of the organization. You will also be the key point of contact into Operations to implement Markets or Citi learning initiatives and will be responsible for identifying and addressing residual skills gaps. As a strategic leader within the team, you must partner effectively across the Chief of Staff team to drive results. This role supports important strategic initiatives in Markets Operations, shaping programs that have a direct impact on colleagues\' careers.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Strategy

  • Engage with HR and People@Markets to design effective learning interventions for Markets Operations specific requirements
  • Develop and drive the Markets Operations Learning Strategy aligned to business objectives
  • In partnership with Operations leaders, identify skills gaps and future capability needs, and prioritise focus areas

Program Development and Delivery

  • Support the execution of strategic HR / Markets / Operations training initiatives within Markets Operations
  • Influence existing offerings to ensure they address Markets Operations strategic needs
  • Where gaps which cannot be addressed systemically, design, and implement targeted interventions tailored to Markets Operations
  • Host training sessions, leveraging Markets Operations SMEs and L&D facilitators as appropriate

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

  • Act as the primary liaison between Markets Operations leadership, HR, Markets and training governance forums
  • Effectively communicate regularly on the Learning Strategy to stakeholders at all levels
  • Utilise communications tools, including having access to Markets Communications inbox and EDT

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish KPIs to measure impact and effect of learning programmes on Markets Operations
  • Regularly review and enhance initiatives based on feedback and business needs
  • Monitor industry best practices and bring innovative / creative approaches into the function

Leadership

  • Line manage one direct report, providing coaching, feedback and career development
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance working relationship across Chief of Staff
  • As a leader within the team, you will be expected to support the broader chief of staff team, as required, on any critical or urgent initiatives
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm\'s reputation and safeguarding Citi, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong knowledge of modern learning methodologies (digital, blended, experiential, coaching etc)
  • Proven ability to work in a team of diverse skill sets and cultures
  • Experience line managing at least one direct report
