Main duties of the job

As a Bank Oncology Staff Nurse at Derby Hospital, you will:

  • Be a valued addition to the team in our consultant and nurse-led service
  • Work with patients receiving chemotherapy or new treatments, such as immunotherapy
  • Fully assess each patient's needs, providing tailored treatment plans and care
  • Administer systemic anti-cancer therapies
  • Assist consultants during clinics
  • Provide care for Acute Oncological emergencies
  • Be proficient in venepuncture, cannulation and the use of central venous access devices

Nuffield Health Derby Hospital is a modern, purpose-built hospital with 38 en-suite beds, three operating theatres, and a comprehensive range of outpatient services. The Radiology department is a small but busy department covering general radiographic procedures, theatre, ultrasound, MRI and CT. Set in beautiful grounds, we're about 3 miles from the city centre, within easy reach of all major roads and bus routes.
