NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Ward 68, we are looking for an experienced nurse to develop and enhance clinical, leadership and management skills as a Charge Nurse Role in neurological ward within the Institute of Neurological Sciences.

The post holder will support the SCN by supporting and managing the clinical department in Ward 68 directing the team and ensuring that patients’ needs are assessed, care planned, implemented and evaluated, and that there is consultation and involvement of the multidisciplinary team. The post holder will provide leadership, guidance and support to the nursing team and is responsible for ensuring their supervision, training and education in conjunction with the SCN and educator.

The post holder will implement acute and rehabilitation skills to direct and provide strong leadership in the provision of a high quality patient experience, ensuring safe patient centred care is undertaken at every opportunity. Under direction from the SCN they will display effective management of the MDT team, optimising the use of human resources, absence management, rostering to reflect activity requirements, review and uptake in audits and assurance.

It is essential that the successful candidate has relevant experience within neurology / neurosciences or rehabilitation environment, and demonstrates good leadership / management skills.
