Job description
Overview

A vacancy for a substantive Consultant Psychiatrist as part of the CAMHS Service in North Derbyshire at Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership for the CAMHS team in the High Peak and Dales area.
  • Work within a multi-disciplinary team alongside a psychologist, mental health practitioners, an ANP, CBT therapists and a family therapist; participate in regular input from the DBT team.
  • Deliver high-quality clinical care within the CAMHS service and contribute to service development.
  • Based in Buxton, contributing to the local CAMHS provision for a mix of rural and urban populations.
  • Support defined Care Unit activity as allocated via an extended SPA beyond the usual 1.5 programmed activities.
Location

Buxton, covering the High Peak and Dales area with a diverse population including farmers, rural workers, and commuters.

What we offer
  • £10,000 in addition to basic salary on commencement, with a further £10,000 after 2 years in post.
  • Additional SPA beyond the standard allocation to enable Care Unit support.
  • Benefits pro rata for part-time appointments.
Team and Environment

The CAMHS team is part of Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and benefits from co-location with paediatric services, including paediatricians, paediatric ward, community therapists and nurses, plus a disabled children’s social care team. Positive relationships with paediatrics are maintained.
