Building Surveyor- PTS

Cardiff (Hybrid 1 week on-site, 2 weeks remote)

Our client is looking for a Building Surveyor with a solid background in asset condition surveying and rail-related safety competencies to support a growing team in delivering a high-volume surveying programme across Wales & Western.

This is a hybrid role based in Cardiff, with one week required on-site (accommodation provided if over an hour's commute) and two weeks remote.

Essential Requirements:
  • HND/HNC or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Previous proven experience in building condition surveys across diverse property portfolios.
  • Understanding of:
    • Building Regulations, CDM Regulations, and planning processes.
    • Statutory/rail industry construction and maintenance requirements.
    • Railway safety and possession regimes.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Valid Safety critical competencies (PTS & STE5)
Responsibilities Include:
  • Delivering a defined work bank of building asset condition surveys in line with statutory compliance.
  • Developing survey strategies and delivery plans for annual condition surveys.
  • Reporting on asset conditions using asset management systems.
  • Supporting the creation of maintenance plans and technical scopes.
  • Monitoring progress and quality of maintenance schemes.
  • Representing at hand-back meetings for completed works.
  • Maintaining all relevant rail-specific competencies and training.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations.
