A social housing and support services company is seeking a Building Surveyor to support their Responsive Repairs and Maintenance teams in the North Staffordshire region. The successful candidate will conduct surveys, prepare specifications, and manage contractor delivery. The role offers a £2,000 car allowance, hybrid working, 25 days holiday, and a pension scheme.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a social housing maintenance surveyor role, covering core trades.

  • Prepare detailed specifications and manage quality of works.
  • Complete inspections related to Damp, Mould, and Condensation.

Skills

Social Housing experience

I am looking for a Building Surveyor to join a social housing and support services company operating in and around the North Staffordshire region. The main role will involve supporting their Responsive Repairs and Maintenance teams by carrying out approximately 6 surveys a day. The Building Surveyor will benefit from a £2,000 car allowance and hybrid working.

Building Surveyor duties:

  • Conduct in-depth surveys of properties, diagnosing complex faults and failures, and undertaking appropriate inspections across voids and responsive repairs
  • Inspect, measure, and schedule works, including pre-inspections and preparation of diagrams or drawings necessary for the work
  • Prepare detailed specifications, including Nat fed 8 rates, oversee contractors' delivery of works, and manage quality, value for money, and progress, ensuring compliance with contract terms and customer expectations
  • Complete inspections and surveys related to Damp, Mould, and Condensation; provide solutions aligned with ombudsman recommendations (AWAABs Law)

Building Surveyor requirements:

  • At least 2 years of post-qualification experience in a social housing maintenance surveyor role, covering core trades
  • Experience using SORs
  • Social Housing experience
  • Ability to document remedial actions in reports
  • HND/HNC and health and safety qualifications
