Overview

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and organised Assistant Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, where you will be responsible for performing necessary general ledger close procedures, ensuring financial statements are accurate for the reporting period. You will have the chance to support automation, efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness whilst maintaining strong internal controls. This position is based in Manchester and offers a hybrid working model. Opportunity to work in a dynamic finance department. Chance to support automation and finance transformation initiatives. Responsibilities
  • Perform necessary general ledger close procedures including sub-ledger to GL activities, accruals, and journal adjustments
  • Prepare and post journals with appropriate auditable documentation
  • Complete agreed recharges, reallocations, assisting with IFRS adjustments, and revaluation journals
  • Perform elimination and allocation journal entries
  • Assist with Lease accounting
  • Support annual calendar of audit activities
  • Work collaboratively with other pillars in RTR and across Finance Operations to resolve discrepancies and identify errors
  • Deliver defined performance service levels aligned with the KPIs and SLAs for the RTR team
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as an assistant accountant (PQ or equivalent) within a finance department
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Oracle Fusion ERP)
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Resilience and adaptability to change
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and investigative abilities
  • Effective communication skills
