Job description
Adult Dietitian – Band 5

We are seeking an enthusiastic dietitian to join our team at Croydon University Hospital. The Nutrition and Dietetic Department is welcoming, supportive and always seeking ways to improve. We provide an integrated service across Croydon Health Services, offering expert dietetic care in areas including gastroenterology, paediatrics and community settings. Our team has strong working relationships with medical, nursing and allied health professionals to provide safe and effective patient care.

You will be part of an acute team that includes a Band 7 acute lead dietitian, a Band 7 gastroenterology dietitian, a Band 6 stroke dietitian, two Band 5 dietitians and two dietetic assistants. The Band 5 posts encompass a caseload of general medical, endocrinology, respiratory, surgical and care of the elderly wards. The post holder will deliver a general outpatient clinic, support other services, and run remote IBS sessions once a month.

Personal qualities we value are good people‑management skills, initiative, flexibility, and a proven track record of working through change.

Clinical supervision, a monthly journal club, and in‑service monthly CPD are well established. We also host placement years 1, 2 and 3 students.

Interview date: TBC.

As a Band 5 dietitian, you will provide dietetic services across medical, elderly, and specialised clinical areas, including gastroenterology, renal, diabetes, cardiology, haematology, oncology, gynaecology and urology. The post holder will also deliver group sessions, such as maternity healthy‑weight groups and IBS groups.

The post holder will liaise with and support the multidisciplinary team for elderly care, GPs, practice nurses and district nurses.

Integral to the role is the formulation, delivery and review of individual dietetic treatment plans based on evidence‑based practice and clinical assessment. The successful candidate will maintain a portfolio through self‑directed learning, reflective practice and CPD opportunities.
