Responsibilities
  • Coordinate internal and external enquiries that come into the team inbox, such as Freedom of Information requests and MP briefings, to ensure a timely and high-quality response.
  • Support Technical Specialists in the maintenance and improvement of data within the Warning System, using a variety of databases and GIS tools.
  • Support Incident Management leads in updating procedures, training materials and rosters, to ensure delivery of a competent and resilient flood incident management service.
  • Support Engagement Advisors with production of materials and resources for engagement with customers and partners, and assist with community engagement events as necessary.

We ensure our staff, partners and communities are ready to respond effectively before, during and after a flood. We deliver the Flood Warning Service, engage with communities at risk from flooding and ensure our flood warning duty officers are trained and capable.

  • An excellent communicator, who enjoys engaging with others and building relationships; interpersonal skills should be complemented by enthusiasm to achieve results.
  • Take a proactive approach to progressing work, with the confidence to make decisions on your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Be able to work as part of a team, and individually, with the ability to prioritise an interesting and varied workload.
